Dude Peak Derby Trail Race

On June 19, 2027, runners will gather at Memory Grove Park to embark on an unforgettable journey through the scenic trails of Salt Lake City. The race begins with a climb into City Creek Canyon before transitioning onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST), offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
At mile 1.8, runners turn left and continue west toward Ensign Peak, where they'll make their way down a steep descent to reach the summit. After capturing that iconic photo at the peak's tower road, participants descend along singletrack trails before climbing back up towards radio towers by mile 6.5.
The second half of the race follows the ridgeline for three miles near Dude Peak’s turnaround point, then retraces steps down into City Creek Canyon and out via the canyon trail to finish at Memory Grove Park. This self-supported event requires runners to carry their own hydration and nutrition, with a water cache available on the tower road.
The course is marked by rugged terrain and breathtaking vistas of Salt Lake Valley, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience for all levels of runners. With prize money up for grabs in both men’s and women's categories, this race celebrates trail running’s spirit of community and competition alike.
