The Downcountry Enduro returns for 2026 with an exciting single-day format, offering diverse challenges across multiple stages. This year's event spans three categories tailored to various skill levels. For beginners, the Novice Class will tackle four laps on the Winn Loop, covering a total distance of eight miles. Participants in this class can expect a smooth and manageable route that introduces them to off-road racing while still providing an exhilarating experience. The Sport Class is designed for those looking for more action with seven stages spread across different terrains. Three stages will be held on Kame, two on Winn Loop, and another two on Sugar. This 18-mile course promises a varied landscape that challenges both skill and endurance. Advanced runners won't want to miss the Expert Category, which features eight stages and covers an impressive distance of 22 miles. Stages include one on Green Lake loop, three on Kame, two on Winn Loop, and another pair on Sugar. This category is perfect for seasoned athletes seeking a rigorous test of their abilities. Young racers aged at least eight years can join the Youth Enduro class, competing over four laps on the Winn Loop for a total distance of 8 miles. It’s an ideal introduction to competitive racing with a focus on fun and participation. A unique feature this year is the King & Queen of the Kame competition. This title honors the most well-rounded rider who demonstrates both speed and skill throughout the weekend. Points are deducted from race times based on obstacle performance, making every stage crucial for success in claiming the prestigious title. Race day kicks off with expert category starts at 9:00 AM for women and 9:30 AM for men, followed by awards ceremonies starting at 12:30 PM. The Sport Class begins later, with women racing from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while men start their race at 11:30 AM and wrap up around noon. Novice racers take the lead in the afternoon, starting at 2:30 PM for both genders. Their awards ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 PM, allowing ample time to celebrate after a full day of racing. The Youth Enduro concludes with starts at 4:30 PM and finishes by 7:00 PM. The King & Queen Course remains open from 11:00 AM until the completion of expert stage races around noon, ensuring all participants have an opportunity to compete for this special title.
