Join us Thanksgiving morning for the 49th Annual Y Doug Opel’s Run for the Kids — a festive tradition that brings families, friends, and flocks of all kinds together for a morning of movement, memories, and meaningful giving.

Round up your crew and hit the starting line! Whether you're a family of five or a group of coworkers in matching turkey hats, we've got two special awards waiting for you:

Family Flock Award – Gather your relatives and race as a unit! The more family members you sign up, the better your chances of snagging this coveted honor.
Gobbler Gallop Award – Not racing with family? No problem! Rally your run club, work squad, or trivia team—any group with a fun connection—for a shot at this spirited award.

Why We Run: Every registration helps sponsor a local at-risk child in the YMCA Youth Sports Program. Lace up for a cause and make a difference in a kid's life.

About Sheboygan

Sheboygan, the largest city in Sheboygan county at just over 50,000 residents, lies on the shores of Lake Michigan about 60 miles north of Milwaukee, in east-central Wisconsin. Formerly a busy trading and fishing port, Sheboygan grew through shipping and industry, and was a major center of German immigration to the area. While shipping on the Great Lakes has seen a major decline and the commercial fisheries has declined to 4 commercial fishing companies operating out of Sheboygan. Sheboygan remains a prospering industrial town, and continues its immigrant heritage to this day, with vibrant Hispanic and Hmong communities adding their influences to the cultural landscape. The "spirit on the lake" is the municipal jingle.
