About the Event

Nestled in the heart of Arc Sous Cicon, Défi du Crêt Monniot offers runners an exhilarating journey through scenic Alpine landscapes. Participants can choose between two routes: a challenging 15.8km trail with 357 meters of elevation gain, or shorter but equally demanding options for both ascent and descent.
The main route begins at the village's welcoming hall and ascends to Le Crêt Monniot, reaching an altitude of 1141m. This course is a mix of road and off-road terrain, offering spectacular views along its winding path. For those who prefer a gentler climb, there’s also a dedicated ascent route covering 4.8km with 365 meters of elevation gain.
For younger participants under the age of 12, an agility circuit near the village hall provides a fun and engaging experience designed to develop skills in coordination and balance.
The event also features "La Côte," a rolling 8.5km route that climbs 169m over undulating terrain suitable for all ages. This track is accessible by road and includes areas set up for testing out joëlettes, handcycles used by those with limited mobility to enjoy the trails alongside able-bodied participants.
The day’s activities will benefit "Un petit pas vers la différence," an association supporting individuals with special needs through outdoor recreation and sports. Joëlette users are welcome on all routes, ensuring everyone can participate in this inclusive event.
After completing their chosen course, runners can relax at a communal gathering spot where refreshments and snacks are available to fuel up after the race or simply socialize with fellow participants amidst the stunning backdrop of Arc Sous Cicon’s natural beauty.
