Immerse yourself in the grandeur of Culzean Castle and Country Park on Sunday, March 7th, 2027, as we host our third annual Wild Deer Trail Runs. Nestled along Scotland's west coast in Ayrshire, this majestic estate spans over 642 acres of diverse landscapes including gardens, beaches, woodland trails, and more. Culzean Castle stands proudly on the cliffs designed by Robert Adam during the late 18th century, offering a dramatic backdrop for runners. The event features three trail runs: a family-friendly 5km (ages 11+), a scenic 10km loop (ages 15+), and an exhilarating half-marathon route (ages 17+) through varied terrain. Participants can choose from the challenging trails winding around the Swan Pond, past the ice house, and through formal gardens and fruit glasshouses. The routes are meticulously planned to cater to all ages and abilities, ensuring everyone enjoys a memorable experience amidst stunning natural beauty. Start times for each distance vary: half-marathon runners take off at 9:45 am, followed by both the 10km and 5km races starting together at 10:00 am. Each route offers unique highlights and breathtaking views that make this event a must-attend for trail running enthusiasts. For those who love to run with their canine companions, Canicross is welcome – one controlled dog per runner is permitted on all routes. Race day will be equipped with live chip-timing by Timing Up North, ensuring accurate results. All finishers can look forward to receiving an event medal, exclusive Wild Deer merchandise, and refreshments upon crossing the finish line. To commemorate your participation in this scenic race, a T-shirt option is available for £14 at sign-up. Parking will be provided on-site for £6 per vehicle, with further details shared prior to the event date. Join us as we celebrate trail running against one of Scotland's most picturesque backdrops and experience the magic of Culzean Castle and Country Park firsthand. Enjoy the race!
