The Crown of the Crest, hosted by the Greater Omaha Area Trail Runnerz (GOATz), is a technical trail running event held at Calvin Crest in Fremont, Nebraska. Scheduled for May 23–24, 2026, the race takes place on the scenic bluffs overlooking the Platte River. Known for its "roller coaster" terrain, the course is a single-track loop featuring switchbacks, roots, and significant elevation changes, making it a challenging test for trail enthusiasts and ultra-runners alike.

The event is strictly alcohol-free and tobacco-free, reflecting the rules of the Calvin Crest facility. Runners can expect a fully stocked aid station at the Start/Finish area and a mid-course station that is passed twice per loop. The 100-mile race allows pacers after the first 50 miles, while Lucky 13 runners may have pacers after sunrise on Sunday.

Logistics and Participant Information:

-- Course Difficulty: Each loop features an estimated 1,500 feet of elevation gain. The technical nature of the trail includes steep climbs and descents through cedar forests.
-- Registration: Sign-ups close on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:59 PM CT. There are no on-site registrations.
-- Packet Pickup: Available at the race site up to 90 minutes before the start of each individual distance. A mandatory briefing is held 10 minutes before every start.
-- Lucky 13 Incentive: This timed event starts in the middle of the night on Sunday to provide fresh "energy" and companionship for 100-mile runners still on the course.
-- Facility Rules: Disqualification is immediate for any runner or crew member possessing alcohol on the property.
-- Amenities: Drop bags are permitted for ultra-distances. All participants receive race swag and medals upon completion.
