About the Event

Join us for the third annual Turkey Trot 5k run/walk in Crete, IL! This is a FREE community event for all ages and paces. The last two years have proven to be a success in our area, and we can't wait to see everyone again this year!

This is an UNTIMED fun run, so you can run, jog and walk your own pace on Thanksgiving morning! Before you gobble til you wobble, take part in this fun 5k event where we will be accepting donations to support the Crete Food Pantry. This is a FREE event, but we ask that you kindly donate a non-perishable food item while attending. We will have a donation bin at the race site. The race will begin and end at Heritage Park and we will run through the beautiful neighborhoods of Crete! This event is RAIN or SHINE! We will only cancel for unsafe weather conditions. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and is the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea - after Sicily, Sardinia, Cyprus, and Corsica. It is located between the Sea of Crete and the Libyan Sea, south of the Peloponnese.
