Credit Union Cherry Blossom Kids Run

The 2026 Credit Union Cherry Blossom Kids Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Arlington, VA. Part of the larger Cherry Blossom race weekend, this event is a non-competitive run specifically designed for children ages 4 to 10. The race supports the Children’s Miracle Network, which has currently raised $1,391.20 toward its goal. For safety and organization, the event is strictly limited to the first 600 entrants and is currently sold out.

Security and Parent Protocols

Due to police requirements, a strict Parent-Child Reunion Protocol is in place. Every child’s bib includes two detachable wristbands matching the bib number. A parent or guardian must wear this wristband at all times. After the run, children will only be released from the secure reunion area to an adult with a matching wristband—no exceptions will be made. While parents may choose to run alongside their child, they must still possess the matching wristband for the post-race pickup.

Race Day Logistics

The event is organized into heats of approximately 25 participants, starting with the 4-year-olds and moving up in one-year increments. Each heat takes about 8 to 10 minutes. For those who registered before the sell-out, Packet Pick-up is available on Friday, April 10, at the National Building Museum (2:00 PM – 7:45 PM) or on race morning at the registration tent (8:15 AM – 9:30 AM). Participants are encouraged to arrive early, as registration and bib pickup close promptly at 9:30 AM before the first heat begins.

Registration and Waitlist

The registration fee of $16.75 (inclusive of fees) covered the race entry, a t-shirt, and a finisher medal. As the event has reached its 600-person capacity, no further entries are being accepted.
