Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run

The Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, starting at 7:00 AM MDT at Devils Backbone Open Space (1725 Hidden Valley Drive) in Loveland, Colorado, USA. Founded in 2008 by Paul "Crazy Legs" Stofko, this final edition of the race features a loop course marked with flour arrows, a water/Gatorade aid station near the 3-mile mark manned by Loveland High School Band volunteers, and an awards ceremony at Loveland Aleworks beginning at 10:15 AM.

Event Logistics and Important Information:

• -- Registration: Spots remaining are limited. Registration closes on the date indicated on the event platform.
• -- Parking: Carpool if possible as the parking lot fills up quickly. A pass for Devils Backbone Open Space is required — you will be ticketed without one.
• -- Trail Conditions: Check trail conditions before race day. If trails are closed due to muddy conditions, all runners will be transferred to the next year (no reschedule option as race director no longer lives in Colorado).
• -- Course Marking: The course will be marked with flour arrows. Old school timing — after finishing, you receive a stick representing your overall placing. Turn in the stick immediately.
• -- Hydration: Runners needing more fluids than the aid station provides should carry a hydration pack.

Participant Items:

• -- All runners will be able to select a hat with a random patch (similar to previous years).

Course Description:

• -- Start: Parking lot at Devils Backbone Open Space.
• -- After entering the trail, runners travel 0.1 mile then turn right onto Hidden Valley Trail.
• -- Travel 2.2 miles until reaching Hunter Loop Trail.
• -- Take left onto Hunter Loop, then after 0.3 miles onto Laughing Horse Loop for 0.3 miles.
• -- Take left again on Laughing Horse Loop for 0.7 miles, then head back using a 0.5 mile section.
• -- Continue on Laughing Horse Loop (0.3 miles), then Hunter Loop sections (0.4 and 0.6 miles) until reaching Wild Loop Trail.
• -- Travel 0.8 miles on lower section of Wild Loop, then final 0.4 miles to finish in the parking lot.
• -- Loop course design limits runners running both ways on the trail.

Final Event Announcement:

• -- The 2026 race is the final Crazy Legs 10k Trail Run. The event will not return for 2027 due to declining registration and increasing difficulty securing volunteers.
• -- Race director Paul "Crazy Legs" Stofko will continue expanding races in Northwest Indiana focusing on ultra distances and timed events.
