CORRIDA E CAMINHADA MEC 2026

On November 29, 2026, the Esplanada dos Ministérios in Brasília/DF will host the Corrida e Caminhada MEC – Edição 2026. This annual gathering offers runners and walkers a chance to explore one of Brazil's most iconic urban landscapes while participating in either a non-competitive 3 km walk or competitive races over distances of 5 km and 10 km.
The event kicks off from the Esplanada dos Ministérios, directly facing the Ministry of Education. Participants will navigate through Brasília’s sprawling avenues lined with government buildings and lush green spaces, making for an unforgettable backdrop during their run or stroll.
For those choosing to race competitively in either the 5 km or 10 km events, electronic timing ensures accurate results while providing a spirited challenge against fellow runners. The event is designed primarily for MEC employees, affiliated entities, family members, and invited guests with up to 4,500 spots available; an additional 1,500 slots are reserved for the general public.
Registration details will be announced closer to the date, including payment terms and specific conditions for each category. Participants must adhere strictly to the official routes, which will be mapped out and communicated through event channels prior to race day. Safety measures may necessitate route adjustments as needed by organizers.
This year’s Corrida e Caminhada MEC promises a blend of physical activity and cultural immersion in one of Brazil's most architecturally significant settings.
