Coop Kungsholmen runt

The COOP Kungsholmen Runt, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, is one of Stockholm's most central and high-speed running events. Organized by FK Studenterna and Runners' Store IK, the race is sanctioned by World Athletics, ensuring a high-quality experience for elite athletes and recreational runners alike. The event features a fast, flat course with long straights through Kungsholmen, starting and finishing in the iconic Rålambshovsparken ("Rålis"). Beyond the competition, the event supports a humanitarian cause, with 20 SEK from every registration donated to Doctors Without Borders (Läkare Utan Gränser) for their work in Ukraine.

Kungsholmen is an island and borough in central Stockholm with a population of approximately 71,000 residents. It is known for its architectural landmarks, including the Stockholm City Hall, and its extensive waterfront promenades. The demographic profile of the borough is predominantly Swedish, characterized by high educational attainment and professional employment. The median household income in this district is roughly 420,000 SEK. The race course leverages the island's unique urban geography, offering runners views of Lake Mälaren and the Riddarfjärden waterfront while maintaining a route designed for personal bests.

Registration fees are tiered, with discounts available for COOP members who use the code COOP25. Current fees for the 10 km start at 449 SEK, while the half marathon is 599 SEK (non-member pricing). Participants receive professional chip timing (net and gross) and access to hydration stations serving Umara sports drinks approximately every three kilometers. Numbers can be collected at Runners' Store on Regeringsgatan from May 6–8 or at the race site on the morning of the event. For runners traveling via public transport, the Thorildsplan and Fridhemsplan subway stations are within a five-minute walk of the Rålambshovsparken race village.
