The Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 5:00 AM, starting at the Cool Staging Area (7200 Saint Florian Court, Cool, California). This beautiful, hot 100-mile run of Northern California features generous cutoffs (37 hours) and awards a handcrafted silver buckle by legendary silversmith James Stegman of Comstock Heritage in Reno.

4 loops of 13.5 miles (North) + 4 loops of 11.5 miles (South) • Total elevation gain/loss approx 13,600 ft

13.5-Mile North Loop
Elevation approx 2,200 ft • Western States trail, Pig Farm trail, K2, Olmstead trail

11.5-Mile South Loop
Elevation approx 1,150 ft • Knickerbocker trail, Blue Oak trail, Rim Trail, Pilot Hill

Event Logistics & Participant Information:

Registration Deadline: Closes Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT.
Start Time: Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 5:00 AM.
Location: Cool Staging Area, 7200 Saint Florian Court, Cool, CA 95614. Free parking included in registration.
Cut-off Times: 33 hours at mile 88.5 (Sunday 2:00 PM). 37 hours at mile 100 (Sunday 6:00 PM). Runners missing cutoffs must turn in bib as DNF.
Course Surface: Single track and fire roads. Extremely well-marked.
Order of Loops: North loop first, then South loop. Four cycles of each.
Packet Pickup: Option #1: Friday, June 12, 2:00-6:00 PM. Option #2: Race morning, 3:45-4:45 AM. Both at Cool Staging Area.
Pacers: Allowed only after runner completes third loop (mile 38.5).
Crews: Restricted to Cool Staging Area (Start/Finish). May aid runner after completion of each loop.
Drop Bags: Permitted at Cool and Knickerbocker only. Collection 4:00-5:00 AM race morning at designated locations.
Live Tracking: Available at https://www.ultralive.net/cm100#tracking/info. UltraLive.net provides timing chips and equipment.

Finisher Awards: All 100-mile finishers receive a handcrafted Comstock Heritage finisher's buckle (silver), shirt, and finisher's medal.

Aid Stations North Loop: The Ranch (mile 4.5, full), Top of Dam Switchbacks (mile 8.8, water only), Knickerbocker (mile 10, full), The Ranch (mile 12.3, full), Cool Staging Area (mile 13.5, full).
Aid Stations South Loop: Knickerbocker (mile 16, full), Pilot Hill (mile 19, water only), Catecroft (mile 20.5, full), Knickerbocker (mile 23, full), Cool Staging Area (mile 25, full).
Historic Course: Starts with two miles down the historic Western States trail. Backcountry single track, Salt Creek Loop Trail, American River views.
Scenic Setting: Northern California's beautiful, hot 100-mile run. Amazing backcountry terrain.
Results History: Available from 2010-2025. Men's course record: Jake Jackson (19:24:45, 2023).
