Coastal 5

Welcome to the Coastal 5, South Australia's beloved coastal running series now entering its tenth year. This unique challenge has evolved from an extensive five-day marathon into two carefully selected dates: Saturday, August 22nd and Sunday, October 11th.
The event will take place on Semaphore’s scenic coastline, featuring a single day of racing over the classic 42.2km distance. Participants can choose to join for one or both days, with registration fees set at $35 for each individual race and $60 if signing up for both dates. The marathon route is an AIMS-certified course known for its challenging yet rewarding terrain.
This year’s event will be entirely self-supported, allowing runners more freedom but also requiring them to manage their own logistics. Race bibs and finisher medals will be distributed at the pre-race briefing where participants can collect essential information and have a group photo taken with fellow competitors. The race starts promptly at 7:00 am each day after check-in from 6:15 am, followed by an important race briefing at 6:45 am.
Participants are encouraged to use platforms like Strava or similar apps to record their times accurately and submit the results back to Coastal Fun Runs for inclusion in official online rankings. There's no strict cut-off time, allowing runners to enjoy the journey without added pressure.
The event is recognized by the 100 Marathon Club, adding prestige to your achievement. Additionally, a portion of proceeds will be donated to ACRF (Avner Cosmetics Research Foundation) to support their mission in ending cancer.
