JOIN US! For the 6th Annual running of the “City of Rockmart - Running for a Paws 5K”!  Held Saturday morning, October 10, 2026 in lovely Downtown Rockmart, GA!  In its SIXTH year now, the 5K race incorporates both parts of Downtown Rockmart as well as the super-fast Silver Comet Trail for an event whose proceeds go to benefit the City of Rockmart Police Department K9 Fund. So come Join us and RUN FOR A PAWS!!!!

Registration:

$30 Pre-Race Registration Fee

   (Please NOTE: Registration Closes 11:00 PM, Sunday evening, October 4th.   You must register by this date to guarantee your T-shirt size and lock in at the reduced rate!) 

$40 Race Day Registration Fee 

5K Start-Finish & Race Day Parking:

The Starting Line is located at the intersection of Slate St. and Cherry St. in Downtown - Facing the old City Hall. The Finish line will be located along the Silver Comet Trail adjacent to Euharlee Creek next to Veterans Plaza, directly across the creek from Seaborn Jones Park.  Right in the middle of Downtown Rockmart!

Race Day Parking will be allowed Downtown on a first come first serve basis. Additional parking will be allowed in the City lot located across Euharlee Creek directly across from the Starting line. Signage will be present downtown near the Start/Finish Line(s) to direct runners to that parking lots on Race day Morning. 

Race Route (See attached Route Map):

Race Route utilizes portions of the immediate surface streets in downtown, entering the “Silver Comet Trail path” at the Water Street Location. 

Overall Route is an “out-and-back” course along the super-fast Silver Comet Trail with the turnaround point located just past the Vinson Mountain Trailhead. 

Race Day Schedule of Events:

6:45 AM Race Day Registration Opens 
7:30 AM Race Day Registration Closes
8:00 AM 5K Start Time
9:15 AM 5K Awards Presentation (located at the Finish Line adjacent to the Water Street Silver Comet Trailhead.)   

Pre-Registration Packet Pick up:

Pre-Registration Packet Pick up will be held Friday October 9th. from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Rockmart Police Department Headquarters, located at 316 N. Piedmont Ave. Bldg. 200, Rockmart, GA. 

Awards:  Awards will be given to the following: 

Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners
Top Masters Male and Top Masters Female Winners
Top Male & Female in the following Age Categories: 10-Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over
