CIRCUITO RIO ANTIGO - ETAPA PORTO MARAVILHA

The Circuito Rio Antigo, established in 2010, has become an integral part of the sports calendar in Rio de Janeiro. This unique race celebrates the rich history and cultural heritage of one of Brazil's most vibrant cities by weaving a course through streets that have witnessed significant moments in Brazilian history. Participants are treated to a journey through iconic architecture and landmarks, fostering a sense of pride and connection among locals.
The event offers three distances: a 3km walk and runs of either 5km or 10km. The race starts at Avenida Venezuela and finishes back at Praça Mauá in the city center on November 29, 2026. With age limits starting from as young as 12 years old for walkers to 14 and 16 for shorter and longer runs respectively, there is an option suitable for all ages.
The race day begins early with the longest distance runners taking off at 6:30 AM followed by a 7:30 AM start time for those in the 5km category. Walkers will begin their journey through history at 8:00 AM. The event promises an immersive experience, complete with a chip timing system to ensure accurate results and medals awarded upon completion.
Participants can choose between two kit options; essential kits include shirts, bags, race numbers (with chips), and finisher's medals for all distances while the economical option includes just the number and medal at lower costs. The registration process opens early but participants are advised to sign up quickly as spaces fill fast due to high demand.
This year’s edition promises an unforgettable experience that blends athletic challenge with a deep appreciation of Rio de Janeiro’s historical significance, making it a must for both runners and history enthusiasts alike.
