PARKING INFORMATION

Parking for the event is available at Valley High School. Volunteers will be present to assist and direct you to an appropriate parking spot. To ensure the safety of participants and smooth traffic flow, please do not park on Valley Pool Rd or in the dirt area just north of it. Additionally, avoid parking along any part of the race route, which includes San Isidro Rd., Candelaria Blvd., Rio Grande Blvd., and Griegos Rd. Note that Griegos Elementary School, located just north of Valley Pool Rd, is also not a designated parking area.

All participants and spectators are asked to enter the Valley High School parking lot via Candelaria Blvd only. Parking spaces are available on both the front (south) and north sides of the school. Please remember that parking on Valley Pool Rd is strictly prohibited.

To avoid traffic congestion and ensure timely arrival, please plan to arrive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Valley Pool Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic after 7:30 a.m.

START

5K & 10K races begin on or near the Valley H.S. Track; the 10K starts just east of the track in the school parking lot. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time. The finish line is at Griegos Elementary School Field, north of Valley Pool Road, where race-day registration and post-race activities also take place.

This is a Gun Start with a timing chip finish; official timing begins when the gun sounds. Out-of-town participants can pick up packets at Griegos Elementary School Field on race day. All runners must wear their timing chip/bib visibly on the front to be ranked and eligible for awards.

EVENT DAY

All participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and courteously towards the community and their fellow participants during the Event. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be disqualified from the Event and asked to leave the course.

•    A participant who has received any assistance from another person may be disqualified from the Event. “Assistance” includes, without limitation, conveying advice, information, or direct or indirect help to a participant by any means, including technical communication devices. It also includes pacing by persons not officially participating in the Event. •    Any person who participates in the Event without a current official Event bib number or timing device officially assigned to them, is subject to removal and disqualification from future Events.
•    No persons are authorized to be on the course unless they are registered participants. Any person not correctly displaying an authorized and issued bib number shall be directed to leave the course.
•    A hands-on medical examination during the progress of an Event by officially designated medical personnel shall not be considered assistance. It will not result in disqualification if the participant is deemed medically fit.

•    Participants are responsible for and assume liability for all medical expenses incurred from training for and/or participating in the Event, including, but not limited to, ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services.
• Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather, other conditions, or governmental orders or directives by Emergency Protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather.
•    Participants should familiarize themselves with the Event Alert System (EAS) and adjust their race plans accordingly.

RESULT TIMING

•    Participants with missing or irregular split times at official electronic timing checkpoints may be disqualified.
•    All finish times are reviewed before times are deemed official. Participants will be allowed to appeal unofficial finish times before they are made official. Appeals must be submitted within three (3) days of the event day.
•    Participants must begin the Event at the officially recognized start time to register an official finish time.

The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. About Albuquerque

Learn more about the host city, Albuquerque.

Scenic view of

Albuquerque, also known as ABQ, is a vibrant, sprawling city near the center of New Mexico. Cradled in the Rio Grande Valley beneath the Sandia Mountains, it is by far the largest city in the state, acting as the media, educational, and economic center of New Mexico, as well as the home of the state's only major airport, making it a common entry point into New Mexico. Despite this, Albuquerque is often overshadowed as a tourist destination by Santa Fe, 60 miles (97 km) to the north.
