Mainland Golf Course, located at 2250 Rittenhouse Road in Harleysville, sets the stage for this year’s edition. The course itself is a well-manicured gem with lush greens and challenging fairways that wind their way through the rolling hills of Pennsylvania's countryside. As players tee off under clear blue skies or amidst the crisp fall foliage, they are not only enjoying one of the region's premier golf experiences but also contributing to a cause that has served over 170,000 meals since its inception in 1986.
The Chosen 300 is deeply rooted in Harleysville’s community fabric. Over the years, it has become more than just an annual event; it's a tradition where local businesses and individuals come together to support those less fortunate. Each year brings new sponsors and participants who join forces with long-time supporters to raise funds for ongoing hunger relief efforts. The energy at Mainland Golf Course on race day is palpable as golfers, volunteers, and spectators alike celebrate the spirit of giving back.
The course layout features a mix of par 3s, par 4s, and one challenging par 5 that winds through mature trees and strategically placed water hazards. Participants will traverse nearly every inch of this meticulously maintained course before crossing the finish line at the clubhouse where refreshments and camaraderie await. Notable for its firm yet slightly soft trail conditions, golfers can expect a fair challenge under typical October weather with average temperatures around 14 degrees Celsius.
Golf Out Hunger offers several opportunities to get involved beyond just playing a round of golf. Corporate sponsors have options like the Four-Some Package at $750 or the Hole-in-One Corporate Package for $1,500, while individual players can register as part of a four-some group or opt for an Individual Registration fee of $150. These funds go directly towards supporting Chosen 300's mission to alleviate food insecurity in Philadelphia and beyond.
For those looking to participate, registration is open through the event website at https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Harleysville/ChosenGolfOutHungerOctTh with fees varying based on package selection. Bib pickup will take place from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Mainland Golf Course where participants should bring their confirmation email and photo ID.
The start location is precisely located at 2250 Rittenhouse Road, Harleysville, PA 19438-2917. Participants must be aged 18 or older to register for the event; anyone younger would need parental consent. First-time attendees are advised to arrive early to familiarize themselves with the layout and check-in process.
The Chosen 300 Golf Out Hunger, taking place in Harleysville on October 12th, continues a proud tradition of community engagement and support for those facing food insecurity. It's an event where every swing contributes to making a difference in the Philadelphia region.
