The Chocorua Mountain Race will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 8:00 AM, starting and finishing on Scott Road in Tamworth, NH, within the White Mountain National Forest. This 23 km (approx.) mountain course features 4,800 feet of climbing, with rugged terrain including rocks, roots, boulders, steep ledges, and stream crossings. The race begins with a fast, flat section through a field before entering single‑track on the Hammond Trail (2.8 miles, 1,900 ft ascent to the Liberty Trail junction), then descends 1,600 ft over 2.5 miles to the only on‑course aid station. Runners then complete an arduous loop up and over the 3,478 ft summit of Mount Chocorua before descending via the Liberty Trail back to the Hammond Trail and the finish.

All participants must carry mandatory gear: 1 liter of fluids, 400 calories of food, a windbreaker/rain shell, and a space blanket or emergency foil blanket. Gear will be checked upon bib pickup on race morning; failure to carry mandatory gear results in disqualification. This is a cupless event — runners must bring their own hydration system (bottle, cup, vest, etc.). No disposable cups are provided at aid stations.
Mountain weather is subject to extreme changes; a large portion of the course over the mountain is fully exposed to the elements. Runners should be prepared for rocks, roots, boulders, steep ledges, and frigid mountain water crossings. The race is described as epic and rugged.
