About the Event

On August 1, 2026, the Horský areál Paprsek will host its second annual CBA PAPRSEK XCO race, featuring an exhilarating day of competition and fun for both young riders and adults. The event will showcase a variety of cross-country mountain bike races that cater to different age groups and skill levels.
The main highlight is the UCI C2 category XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) events, which include junior and elite categories. These high-stakes competitions are complemented by regional championships for Olomoucky kraj in all licensed categories as well as MTB Šumperský cup races open to unlicensed participants.
Participants will start their journey next to the Hotel Paprsek, where both the beginning and end of each lap await. The primary circuit measures approximately 3 kilometers and is designed with technical simplicity for XCO racing. Each section offers two distinct lines: Line A, which is faster but riskier; and Line B, a more cautious route that still presents an enjoyable challenge.
For riders, parking options are available in the lower part of the race track near Velké Vrbno or on the adjacent meadow marked for this purpose. Alternatively, they can park at the lower cable car station. Spectators should also aim to use the lower cable car station as their primary entry point.
Every registered competitor will receive free and unlimited access to the cable car along with a wristband upon registration. It's essential that competitors inform the ticket office of their status before proceeding to check-in, ensuring they have completed online registration prior to arrival.
The race day promises an exciting atmosphere filled with adrenaline-pumping action as riders navigate through scenic trails designed for both speed and technical prowess. With its focus on community engagement and support for local initiatives like "Děti Dětem," the event aims not only to celebrate cycling excellence but also to contribute positively to society by raising funds for children in need.
