About the Event

The Carrollton "Tails & Trails" 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 8:00 AM CDT, starting at Josey Ranch Athletic Complex (1440 Keller Springs Road) in Carrollton, TX. The event benefits the Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center. Runners are encouraged to bring their four‑legged running buddies. The 5 km is a timed event; the 1‑mile Fun Run/Walk is untimed. The course runs on Carrollton's hike and bike trails.

All participants must follow event rules as provided by the organizer. Race day registration and warm‑up are from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM. Packet pickup is available at Rosemeade Recreation Center (1330 E. Rosemeade Parkway) on June 4 and 5 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 5 km runners who register by June 1 are guaranteed a race t‑shirt, race bag, and timing chip. All participants receive a race bag. Any changes made to a registration after June 1 incur a $5 change fee.

After the race, enjoy a post‑race celebration with music and the awards ceremony (5 km awards at 9:00 AM).
Donations of Purina Dog Chow, Special Kitty Cat Chow, non‑clumping kitty litter, and cleaning supplies are accepted at Carrollton Animal Services and both recreation facilities for those unable to participate.
The course starts and finishes near Josey Ranch Sports Complex, heading southwest to a turnaround at mile marker 1, then north toward the lake, passing mile marker 2 near the start/finish line, with a short off‑trail section and a slight hill.
Resident and non‑resident pricing applies; group rates are available for up to six people.
