About the Event

The inaugural Caputo Studio Saunter 5K will run in Travelers Rest on May 9th!

The race is presented by Caputo Studio and Powered by ScanSource!

This race is a part of the Greenville Track Club's Corporate Shield running series. www.greenvilletrackclub.com and is a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation. We hope to raise $2,500 via the race. 100% of net proceeds (registrations + sponsorships - costs) from the race will be donated to AF. Your additional donations are welcomed either during registration or directly at Michael's fundraising page on the Arthritis Foundation website: https://events.arthritis.org/participant/426471

The 5K will begin at 8:30AM in Chico Bolin park (adjacent to Trailblazer Park) at 315 Trailblazer Drive in Travelers Rest. Most of the race will be in adjacent neighborhoods on pavement with some hills before a fast flat finish on the track! Dueling for corporate shield points, we should have some excitement on the track. Spectators and already finished racers are encouraged to line the track cheering for their team.

Registration will be $15 through April 30th before rising to $20 until race day.

A souvenir engraved hardwood coaster featuring Sam the sauntering race turtle is available for $12.

Custom wood awards will be presented to top 3 M/F overall and masters, grand masters, and senior grand masters. Awards for corporate shield winners will also be provided.

About Travelers Rest

Travelers Rest is a city in Greenville County, South Carolina. Its population was 7,788 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Greenville-Mauldin-Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Travelers Rest, the northernmost city in Greenville County, is located 10 miles north of Greenville and around 20 miles south of the North Carolina border. The town was founded by J.W. Donaldson, of the famed J.W. Donaldson & Sons Bloodstock cattle empire. Initially built as a reprieve for his oxen and coach herd, the family eventually did yoke and axle repair for settlers headed out on the Oregon Trail. Later, the Dry Goods Warehouse became the start to the Swamp Rabbitfoot Trail. Furman University, a private liberal-arts university, was annexed into the city limits of Travelers Rest in April 2018 and North Greenville University, a private Christian institution, is located in nearby Tigerville.
