Cango Wildlife Klein Karoo Business Relay

On October 22, 2026, the Cango Wildlife Klein Karoo Business Relay will bring together businesses, community groups, and families for an evening of competitive spirit along Baron van Reede Street in Oudtshoorn. This annual event, now sponsored by Cango Wildlife Ranch, kicks off at 18:00 with teams setting out from the Santa Fe Spur restaurant. Participants can choose between a running or walking category; runners cover six legs of 2km each while walkers complete four segments. The competition spans various categories including men's, women's, mixed, high schools, primary schools, and special needs divisions for both running and walking teams.
The event is organized under the ASWD rules by the Klein Karoo Athletics Fund (KKAF), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sports participation and talent development in the region. With support from local sponsors like the Greater Oudtshoern Municipality and Jakhals Events Management, the relay promises an engaging evening that culminates with prize-giving at 20:00. Teams will vie for gold medals in their respective categories, while all participants receive bronze medals as well as entries into a lucky draw for additional prizes.
Adding to the festive atmosphere is a "Fancy Dress" competition where teams can showcase creativity and originality through themed costumes. This event not only fosters community engagement but also supports local sports initiatives aimed at nurturing young talent and building stronger relationships within Oudtshoern's diverse population.
