On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the Calder Lodge Race returns to the picturesque village of Calder Vale near Preston, Lancashire. Participants can choose between two challenging courses: a scenic 10-mile run and a more accessible 6k fun run. The event kicks off at 11:00 am sharp from the heart of Calder Vale Village Hall in PR3 1SJ. Both races wind through tranquil countryside roads that offer runners stunning views of rolling hills, lush greenery, and historic landmarks. The route is carefully planned to avoid busy traffic areas, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Upon crossing the finish line, athletes will be greeted with much more than just cheers. Each runner receives a goodie bag filled with a commemorative t-shirt and an impressive medal, symbolizing their achievement in this beloved local event. This year’s race also features pies and peas at the finish area, providing runners with a hearty meal to celebrate their accomplishment. Participants are reminded that while headphones can be distracting on such scenic routes, bone conduction headphones are permitted as per England Athletics guidelines if they wish to listen to music or podcasts during the run.
