RegisterLeave the pavement behind and hit 100% unpaved roads and trails in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains—just an hour from Denver. Whether you’re tackling the Half Marathon or joining in on the 5K, you’ll enjoy challenging terrain, fresh mountain air, and jaw-dropping views at every turn. All abilities are welcome, from first-time racers to seasoned trail runners.
This is a race for the whole family! Bring your kids, friends, and even your four-legged companions—dogs are welcome on leash, so no one has to sit this one out. With trails designed for fun and adventure, everyone can find their pace!
All proceeds from the Byers Peak Stampede directly benefit the Shining Stars Foundation. Annually, the Shining Stars Foundation offers over 65 transformative experiences. These programs are provided at absolutely no cost to the children and families we serve. As one of the few nonprofits nationally offering long-term, year-round services for children and families at any stage of their cancer journey—including treatment, relapse, or remission—the Shining Stars Foundation is making a life-changing impact. This event meets the criteria set by the American Trail Running Association (ATRA) to ensure trail running events are safe, well-organized, and environmentally conscious.
Half Marathon Course: Click here to view course map. The course takes place almost entirely on dirt roads and trails. The course begins at approximately 8,700 ft. and traveling above 9,500 ft. Aid stations will be on course complete with water, sports drink, and fruit. This race has a time limit - racers must be to mile 9 by 10:30AM. 8AM Start.
