Test your endurance and navigation skills at the Butcombe Trail Ultra on Saturday, 25th April 2026, offering two stunning self-navigated routes—50 miles or 50km—through the beautiful Mendip Hills in Somerset. Organized by volunteers from Bristol's Town & Country Harriers, this community-focused event is renowned for its incredibly friendly atmosphere, well-stocked aid stations manned by fellow trail runners, and GPS tracking for friends and family. Both the 50-mile (1960m ascent) and 50km (1200m ascent) loops serve as qualifying index races for the UTMB series, attracting a mix of seasoned ultra runners and those stepping up to the distance on the scenic but challenging limestone trails. Your entry includes a hot meal at the finish, a bespoke medal, free professional photos, and the knowledge that all surplus funds are donated to the Mendip Hills Fund to protect the landscape you run through. With early bird pricing available until 14th January 2026, on-site camping, and organized pre-race recce runs, the event is meticulously planned to ensure a fantastic and memorable experience for every participant. Whether you're drawn to the camaraderie, the cause, or the classic West Country trails, the 2026 BTU promises a rewarding and authentic ultra adventure in the heart of the Mendips.
