On September 27, 2026, Busselton Surf Life Saving Club hosts an exhilarating day of multisport action with its Duathlon event. The race begins early on Sunday morning at 7am for the adult categories and offers a variety of distances to cater to different skill levels. For participants aged 13 years and older, there are two main duathlon options: - A shorter distance includes a 1.25km run followed by a 7km bike ride and concludes with another 1.25km run. - The longer course involves a more challenging route starting with a 2.5km run, transitioning to a 14km bike ride, and finishing with a grueling 5km run. The event also features the TRYstars program for younger athletes aged between U7 and 12 years old. This fun-filled segment includes three age-specific categories: - For children under seven, they will complete a short course of 250m running followed by 1km on bicycles before concluding with another 250m run. - Ages 7 to 9 can look forward to a slightly longer distance: starting with 500m running and then cycling for 2km, finishing off the same way as the U7s. - Athletes aged 10 to 12 will tackle an even more extended challenge of 500m run, followed by a bike ride covering 4km, before ending with a final push over 1km on foot. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least twenty minutes prior to the start time in order to register and familiarize themselves with race procedures. All competitors must bring their own bicycle along with appropriate safety gear such as helmets, alongside running shoes for both segments of the run. This event is open not only to members but also welcomes general entries who will receive a one-day insurance cover included within their entry fee. Members from other clubs can join Busselton Surf Life Saving Club at no additional cost and compete free of charge after selecting this option during checkout. Set against the backdrop of scenic coastal views, this event promises an engaging day for both competitors and spectators alike.

About Busselton
Learn more about the host city, Busselton.
Busselton is a city in the South West region of the state of Western Australia approximately 220 km (140 mi) south-west of Perth. Busselton has a long history as a popular holiday destination for Western Australians; however, the closure of the Busselton Port in 1972 and the contemporaneous establishment of the nearby Margaret River wine region have seen tourism become the dominant source of investment and development, supplemented by services and retail. The city is best known for the Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.
