Bridge to Bridge Run

Bridge to Bridge Run returns to Peoria, Illinois on September 7th, 2026, offering a unique opportunity for runners and families alike. The race will start at Rock Island Country Outfitters (RCO) located at 311 SW Water St in downtown Peoria. After the initial leg of the run across the Illinois River into East Peoria, participants will navigate through scenic trails and streets. On race morning, expect a brisk autumn atmosphere with temperatures around 21°C, feeling slightly cooler due to average humidity levels.
This event is part of an annual tradition that began in 2012 and has since become one of the premier running events in the area. The Bridge to Bridge Run covers four miles and attracts hundreds of participants each year. It supports local charities through prizes and awards given out during the post-race celebration at CEFCU Center Stage, located just north of the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
The course follows the Rock Island Greenway Trail across Water Street into East Peoria before heading back towards downtown Peoria over the Bob Michel Bridge pedestrian path. The route offers a mix of flat and slightly uphill sections, providing both challenges and scenic views along the Illinois River. Post-race festivities include hot food from Olive Garden Italian Kitchen and live music.
