The Break of Dawn North Table Trail Race brings runners together on the trails of North Table Mountain for a cause that reaches far beyond race day. Your participation supports BeyondHome and its mission to help families move beyond homelessness and build lasting self-sufficiency. Now in its second year, the race offers 5- and 10-mile routes through the scenic and challenging terrain of North Table Mountain. Start your morning with wide-open Colorado views, rolling trails, and the satisfaction of knowing that every mile supports a meaningful cause.
The 10-mile course combines the legendary North Table Loop's 7.7-mile outer rim with an additional 2.6 bonus miles. The route is designed to showcase the distinctive terrain of North Table Mountain, giving runners a longer tour of the mesa and its surrounding trails. The 5-mile Breaking Dawn Fiver takes a different approach, weaving through Lithic Trail and the Fairmount Canal Loop while incorporating signature climbs and switchbacks. For newer trail runners, this shorter distance provides a chance to experience the mountain's varied terrain without taking on the longer loop. North Table Mountain is known for panoramic views and a network of more than 15 miles of trails. The surrounding park terrain includes moderate-to-advanced sections and meaningful climbs, while local trail descriptions note rocky and uneven surfaces in places.
When you toe the start line at Break of Dawn, you're running for more than a personal challenge. Your participation helps support BeyondHome's work with families experiencing homelessness as they build the stability, skills, and resources needed to create a more secure future. From 2021–2025, BeyondHome reports 226 families served, 351 youth supported, 112 new jobs or raises secured, 23 families graduating from the program, and 10 homes purchased. These milestones represent more than numbers—they reflect families taking meaningful steps toward lasting self-sufficiency. Run the miles. Support the mission. Help make the next milestone possible.
