Borders XC winter series 2026/27

Welcome to the Borders Cross Country Winter Series 2026/27, an eagerly anticipated event that brings together runners from across Scotland and beyond for seven challenging races. The first race kicks off on November 1st at Torness near Dunbar, setting the stage for a thrilling series of cross-country adventures.
The day begins with junior racers taking to the starting line at 11:15 AM, followed by senior competitors at noon. Each event promises scenic routes that wind through picturesque landscapes in East Lothian and the Scottish Borders. The race courses are designed to challenge runners with varied terrain, including undulating hills, woodland trails, and open fields.
Registration for this series closes on October 16th at midnight, so hurry if you haven't already signed up. Seniors can enter for £51 or take advantage of a discount by showing membership from Scottish Athletics or English Athletics to reduce the cost to just £30. Juniors have an entry fee of £18.
Each participant will receive a unique bib number and NFC chip, which is used throughout all seven races in the series. This system ensures accurate timing at each finish line through swift scanning technology that records your position as you cross the line. Your race pack, including detailed briefings for upcoming events, will be posted to you before the first race.

7th Feb 2027: Gala Harriers • Gala Policies
28th Feb 2027: Lauder Limpers • Lauder
In addition to the competitive spirit, there is a strong emphasis on fair play and adherence to ethical standards. All participants are expected to follow a strict code of conduct that includes displaying courtesy towards others at all times, respecting fellow competitors, and promoting positive aspects of the sport.
