The Tyrone Race Series presents The Book It for Huntingdon Library 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk! 

The Book It for Huntingdon Library 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk and Kids Sprint Event will be held along the scenic trail of Rails to Trails Alexandria Trailhead (Alfarata Station) in Alexandria on November 15th, 2025!

Not a runner and still want to contribute? Open donations will be available if you click on donate at the top of the page. If your unable to donate money, please also consider donating your time! Event will benefit our local Huntingdon County Library.    

The Huntingdon County Library is a tremendous community resource, offering a wide range of print materials, services and programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of Huntingdon County residents.  From providing access to various media formats and cutting-edge technology to hosting educational programs and community events, the library is a hub for learning and engagement.  Founded in 1935, it has a long history of supporting literacy and lifelong learning. The start and finish line will be at Rails to Trails Alexandria Trailhead (Alfarata Station) in  Alexandria, PA.

Timeline of Events:

7:30 AM : Check-in and Day of Registration 

9:00 AM: 5K Run Starts

9:15 AM: 2 Mile Walk Starts

10:00 AM: Kids Sprint (50-100 Meter Dash)

Awards to follow - 

Course: Out and back along the scenic rolled crushed limestone trail of Rails to Trails Alexandria. The trail is extremely flat and may be a good course for achieving 'personal best' times.

Timing: Miles of Smiles Timing Services 

Early Registration: Registration on runsignup.com. Register by October 31st to be guaranteed long sleeve shirt. 

Online Registration will close November 14, 2025 at 12 noon.  

Day of Race Registration: Race registration for the day of is only available from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM

Additional Long Sleeve Shirts - Can be ordered on RunSignUp Store and picked up race day on November 15th, 2025 at Rails to Trails Alexandria Trailhead (Alfarata Station).

Kids Sprint Children 9 & Under:

Early Registration with long sleeve shirt: $15

Cancellation Disclaimer: In the event of a cancellation of Huntingdon County Library, all proceeds will be given to Huntingdon County Library. 

Inclement Weather: We will be monitoring the forecast and in the event of inclement weather the race will be postponed to a later date provided by the Tyrone Race Series committee. Any updates will be  posted on the race website and on the Facebook event.
