The 7th Annual Bone Yard Trail Race, formerly known as Dust N Bones, returns to the scenic Mt. Zion Bike Trail on Saturday, May 16, 2026. This event invites runners to experience "The Biggest Little Trail in Mississippi," offering a course that is usually the exclusive domain of mountain bikers. Whether you are tackling your first trail run or a grueling ultramarathon, the race promises a beautiful yet challenging journey through the natural landscapes of Brookhaven. Race Details and Participation

The Bone Yard Trail Race is designed to showcase the technical beauty of the Mississippi outdoors while providing a safe and fun venue for all fitness levels.

- The Course: A narrow, well-marked single-track trail located at 1134 Mt Zion Rd NW. It features constant twists, turns, and several wooden bridges.
- Terrain Challenge: Known for its "ups and downs," the path is built to compliment its natural surroundings, offering a genuine off-road experience.
- Aid Stations: Dedicated hydration and snack stations are positioned at the 3-mile and 7-mile marks, as well as the central pavilion finish area.
- Recognition: Overall awards are presented to the top 3 male and female finishers across the competitive categories and relay teams.

Atmosphere and Amenities

This event emphasizes a healthy lifestyle and community engagement, providing a welcoming environment for both athletes and their supporters.

- The Pavilion: The heart of the race, offering plenty of seating for post-race visiting, though bringing lawn chairs is recommended to ensure a spot.
- Commemorative Gear: Every registered participant receives an event t-shirt to celebrate their achievement on the trails.
- Trail Stewardship: The event supports a greater cause, as profits are utilized directly for the maintenance and improvement of the Mt. Zion Bike Trails.
- Logistics: Parking is available but limited; carpooling is highly encouraged to accommodate the growing number of participants.
