BMF Hounslow Training - 17km Course returns to Blackheath in New South Wales on August 16th, 2026. The training will commence at Twin Falls Road near the All View private property and follow a challenging route through the Grose Valley. The course takes runners along cliff top tracks to Govetts Leap, then descends into the Grand Canyon via numerous stairs before looping back towards Neates Glen. From there, it heads back up to Evans Lookout, passing by Govetts Leap once more before concluding at Twin Falls Road. This event has been a staple for 16 years now and is run by BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS, a company with extensive experience in National Parks training, having trained runners since 2011. With over 900m of elevation change, this course challenges participants physically but also offers them valuable insights into the Hounslow Classic courses. BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS brings years of expertise to ensure that all runners benefit from their knowledge and experience. Head Trainer Tony Williams won the first Hounslow Double in 2015, while Di Kipp recently secured a win at Ultra Trail Australia by an impressive margin. The training is designed not only for seasoned athletes but also offers pacing groups suitable for various abilities. The course venue presents firm yet slightly soft terrain with high UV levels and moderate humidity, which can make the race feel cooler than it actually is due to the strong winds. Average temperatures hover around 5°C on the day of the event, making early morning preparation crucial as conditions may be quite chilly.
