Vienna, Virginia. Nottoway Park. Scenic, wooded trails. The Blazing Trails 5k & 10k returns on Saturday, July 11, 2026, starting at 7:45 AM (10k) and 8:00 AM (5k). Chip‑timed. Finisher medal and technical Dri‑fit shirt included. Virtual option available. Points count toward Bishop's Events Year‑Long 5k/10k Series, Back of the Pack Series, and Summer Series. Proceeds benefit Variety DC — providing adaptive bicycles, equipment, and therapeutic services for children with mobility disabilities in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Location — Nottoway Park, Vienna, VA:

• Nottoway Park is a 79‑acre Fairfax County park located at 9537 Courthouse Rd, Vienna, VA 22181
• Features wooded trails, open fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and the historic Nottoway Mansion
• Course uses the park's paved and gravel trails, with gentle rolling hills and plenty of shade
• Parking available on site — arrive early (spaces fill quickly)

Course Details:

• 10k: two loops of the 5k course (approx) — three water stations at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65
• 5k: one loop — one water station at approximately mile 1.55
• Gatorade available at select water stations
• Restrooms at start/finish line
• Course maps available on Bishop's Events website

Charity Partner — Variety DC (The Children's Charity):

• Mission: improve the quality of life for children with mobility disabilities living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia
• Provides funding for adaptive bicycles and equipment not covered by insurance
• Also provides therapeutic services and Compassion Funds (small grants for families with extreme financial need)
• Variety DC bridges the gap between healthcare staff and home, helping kids gain mobility, independence, and self‑esteem

Weather Policy — All‑Weather Race Company:

• Rain or shine, sleet or snow — event proceeds unless extreme conditions
• Race officials may delay, change, or postpone due to weather
• No refunds for weather cancellations
• Weekly weather reports posted on Facebook the Thursday before race

No Banditing Policy:

• Unauthorized runners (bandits) are not permitted
• Bandits strain race resources (water, medical aid, space) and create legal liabilities
• Violators may be removed from course, disqualified from future events, and may cause disqualification of any participant they are running with

Social Media Challenge:

• Each Tuesday, Bishop's Events picks a favorite Instagram or Facebook post from the previous race weekend
• Winner receives 50% off a future race
