Blackdown Hill Challenge Junior

The Blackdown Hill Challenge Junior, organized by Midhurst Milers in collaboration with Fernhurst Recreation Ground Trust, invites young runners to explore the scenic trails of Blackdown Hills. This junior-oriented race offers two exciting distances: a 5km course that ascends 151 meters and a shorter 2km route designed for younger participants.
Set against the backdrop of rolling hills and lush greenery, these races provide an ideal setting for young athletes to test their endurance while enjoying the natural beauty around them. The event features varied terrain, including gentle climbs and stretches through wooded areas, offering runners both challenge and scenic views along the way.
In addition to individual achievements, schools have the opportunity to participate in a team competition with mixed teams of six pupils. Teams can compete in either primary or secondary school categories, adding an element of camaraderie and friendly rivalry among peers. Each participating team is charged £48 for entry into this engaging challenge.
The event adheres strictly to UK Athletics rules and receives official licensing from the Trail Running Association, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all competitors.
