Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k

Experience the enchanting fall season at the annual Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k, set to take place on October 11th in Hendersonville, North Carolina. This vibrant race, celebrating its seventh year, invites runners through the picturesque landscapes of Greenway Park.
On race morning, participants will gather amidst the breathtaking scenery of Greenway Park, where lush trees blanket the area with a kaleidoscope of autumn colors. The cool, crisp air around 14 degrees Celsius sets an ideal tone for a memorable event day, with temperatures gradually rising to about 19.6 degrees by afternoon. A gentle breeze adds to the serene ambiance as runners prepare their pace.
The course offers two distinct options: the half marathon, spanning 21 kilometers through challenging yet scenic routes, and the shorter but equally rewarding 8-kilometer run. Both courses are USATF-sanctioned for accurate timing and feature mostly flat terrain with minimal elevation gain of less than 400 feet.
Runners will navigate winding paths and past captivating landmarks before crossing the finish line within Greenway Park. Two well-placed aid stations ensure hydration remains a priority throughout the journey, enhancing the runner's experience.
Post-race festivities await nearby, offering an opportunity to celebrate this exhilarating run with fellow participants.
