Bishopton Triathlon

The Bishopton Triathlon returns on August 22, 2027, offering triathletes of all levels an unforgettable experience at the picturesque North East Wake Park. This venue is renowned for its shallow and clear man-made lake, making it ideal for beginners to test their skills in a supportive environment.
The swim segment takes place in Bishopton Lake, where participants can enjoy water no deeper than 5 feet, allowing them to stand if needed during the course. The sheltered location ensures calm waters, enhancing safety and comfort for all swimmers. With temperatures that tend to be warmer due to the lake's shallow nature, this event promises a more enjoyable swim experience.
The cycling portion features an open road route with minimal turns, offering triathletes the chance to push their limits on short but manageable climbs. The course is part of the British Cycle Series and has been used for TT events and championships, providing athletes with Strava segments to compare performance against other cyclists who have raced here before.
Rounding out the event is a scenic trail run that winds through grassy paths and gravel trails around Bishopton Lake. This spectator-friendly course offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding farmland, encouraging participants as they complete multiple laps leading up to the finish line.
Participants in both Sprint and Olympic distance events can look forward to amenities such as chip-timed results, way-marked routes, marshalled courses, complimentary race photography, on-site parking, toilets with changing facilities, medical services, refreshments from a coffee van, and access to sauna and ice bath recovery options (additional cost).
Registration for the event will take place on August 22 starting at 6:00 AM. Transition areas open up an hour later at 7:00 AM, allowing ample time for setup before the race begins.
