Bimbler's Bash

The Bimbler's Bash is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Guilford, CT. Since its inception in 2007, this "10K (ish)" has grown into the largest single-distance trail event of its kind in Connecticut. The race is a true adventure through Westwoods, featuring an entirely off-road loop consisting of interconnecting single-track hiking trails. Participants should be prepared for technical terrain, including rocks, roots, water crossings, and two distinct rock scrambles.

Participation and Logistics

The event is hosted at A. W. Cox Elementary School. Due to Easter falling on the first weekend of April, the race date was moved to April 12 to accommodate participant feedback. Race day check-in begins at 7:15 AM, and the current participant list stands at 42 runners. Because of the rugged nature of the course, organizers emphasize that this is a "true trail race" with inherent risks of injury; all participants must sign a liability waiver. All proceeds from the event benefit the Guilford Land Conservation Trust, helping to maintain the very trails used during the race.

Awards and Recognition

Recognition will be provided for the overall male and female winners. Additionally, awards are given to age group winners in the following categories: 16 & under, 17–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60+. The event is popular for both highly competitive trail runners and families looking for a unique outdoor challenge. Following the race, the community atmosphere continues as runners share stories of their trek through the Westwoods rock scrambles.

Registration and Fees

Registration is strictly online and will remain open until 8:50 AM on race morning. The current registration fee is $35.00, with a price increase to $40.00 scheduled for April 6, 2026. A $5.00 discount is automatically applied at checkout for participants under 16 years of age. All fees are inclusive of mandatory charges.
