About the Event

Tokyo Marathoners' Circle: A Journey Around the Yamanote Line
On October 4, 2026, runners will gather at Tokyo Station's Marunouchi South Exit to embark on an unforgettable journey around the Yamanote Line. This event offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore one of Japan’s most iconic railway routes while enjoying scenic views and historical landmarks.
The race begins with a warm-up session in front of Tokyo Station, led by professional instructors who guide runners through essential stretching exercises before setting off on their route. The course is designed to be accessible even for those new to long-distance running, offering regular rest stops at major stations along the way, including Odaiba-Kaigandori (10km), Shinjuku (21km), and Ikebukuro (30km).
Participants can expect a leisurely pace of approximately 7-8 minutes per kilometer, with convenient breaks every 40 minutes for refreshments or restroom use. The event is structured to cater to varying levels of fitness; while some may complete the full distance, many find this an ideal platform to tackle their first marathon segment.
The day culminates back at Tokyo Station’s Marunouchi Plaza around 5:00 PM with a celebratory atmosphere as runners and supporters share in the accomplishment. The event is rain or shine but reserves the right to cancel due to severe weather conditions that could pose safety risks, such as typhoons.
Registration fees for this event include discounts when participating alongside friends, making it an excellent choice for group outings. However, participants are advised not to rely on race day facilities for storing personal items and should plan accordingly by using station lockers or bringing their own bags with necessary changes of clothes.
For those interested in enhancing their performance, the organizer recommends several products including foot care inserts that can be easily placed inside running shoes and caffeine-infused gels designed to boost energy levels. Additionally, massage services are available at Momoji Clinic near Kiba Station for post-event recovery sessions.
Social media enthusiasts will enjoy following @FriendlySuga on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram where updates about upcoming events and marathon news are regularly shared. Participants can also look forward to receiving email notifications about new initiatives through Mosicom, encouraging a closer connection with the running community.
A portion of each entry fee is donated towards relief efforts in Noto Peninsula disaster areas, ensuring that participation contributes positively beyond personal achievement.
Join us for an inspiring day filled with camaraderie and scenic exploration around Tokyo’s historic Yamanote Line.
