Beddington Park 10K

Nestled in the heart of Sutton, Beddington Park offers runners an enchanting blend of history and natural beauty. Spanning 58 hectares, this park was once a deer sanctuary for the Carew family during the 14th century but now boasts formal gardens, lush woodlands along the River Wandle, a restored lake teeming with wildlife, and picturesque ponds home to kingfishers and little grebes.
The race course winds through this captivating landscape, starting and finishing opposite the Pavilion Café. Covering four laps plus an additional 40 meters, it is meticulously measured for accuracy, making it ideal for those looking to set a personal best. Participants will encounter a challenging yet manageable terrain that features 97% pathways and just 3% open fields.
The park's rich history comes alive as runners pass by the Grade I Tudor Great Hall and the charming octagonal dovecote, adding an extra layer of charm to this scenic route. The event is well-equipped with changing facilities, toilets, baggage storage, and first aid stations for added convenience. Water will be available at various points along the course.
Medals are awarded to all finishers, while custom trophies go to the top three runners in both male and female categories. Notable records include Kevin Quinn's men's record of 31:28 set in 2010 and Lisa Rooney's women’s record of 39:12 from 2016.
Registration is available at Beddington Park Café between 8:30 am and 9:15 am on race day, or participants can register online through Eventrac.co.uk or McCProMotions.com. Ample parking is provided near British Rail Hackbridge station (a mere five-minute walk) and Wallington station (fifteen minutes away).
