Ayrshire Alps Sportive

On May 22, 2027, cyclists from across Scotland will converge on Ayrshire to participate in the sixth annual Rotary Club of Ayr charity sportive. This ride offers an unforgettable cycling challenge through some of southern Scotland's most breathtaking landscapes while supporting local charities and community organizations.
Riders can choose among four routes: The Short (50 miles with 4,000 feet of climbing), The Medium (64 miles with 5,500 feet of ascent), The Long (82 miles featuring a grueling climb of 6,860 feet), and the Epic (a formidable 102-mile trek with an astounding elevation gain of 8,680 feet). Each route showcases Ayrshire's stunning scenery, from rolling hills to dramatic descents.
The event provides timing facilities for those who wish to track their progress. Cyclists are asked to make a £40 donation towards the charity rather than paying an entry fee; participants can also opt into gift aid on the registration form for additional tax benefits. Feed stations along each route offer sustenance with hearty sandwiches, home baking treats, bananas, and energy bars.
Whether you're up for a shorter ride or ready to tackle the full Epic distance, this event promises scenic beauty and rewarding climbs in the heart of Scotland's Ayrshire Alps.
