About the Event

On November 1, 2026, AV Spirit in Lelystad hosts the kickoff of the 281st Wintercup season. This year's lineup includes various distances for all ages and skill levels: an 800m Kidsrun starting at 10:30 AM, a 2km youth run beginning at 10:45 AM, and recreational runs of 5.050 km and 10.320 km kicking off together at 10:50 AM. Additionally, there's an easy-paced 5.050 km walk also starting at 10:50 AM.
Early bird registrants can secure their spot with discounted fees until October 30th. For participants aged up to 16 years old, the cost is €3 (or a full season pass for €15), while those 17 and older pay €5 (with an option of a season pass at €25). Day-of registration opens at 9:30 AM by AV Spirit's designated table in Sportpark Langezand.
The event promises medals to all children who participate in the Kidsrun, with special recognition for those completing five out of six Wintercup races throughout the season. Competitive runners can look forward to official rankings and awards for both the 5 km and 10 km distances based on their best four performances across the first five events (October through February). Prizes will be awarded before the final race in March 2027.
Participants with a full-season subscription or those who pre-registered won't need to sign up again. Each Wintercup event features new start numbers for all runners, ensuring a seamless and organized experience at AV Spirit's Sportpark Langezand.
