Attention Milers: The ENC Sixteen Hundred Meter Championships (Middle and High School)

Calling all High School and Middle School Milers in Eastern NC!  Join us on Saturday, May 2nd for The (un)official ENC 1600m Championships hosted by Havelock High School.

The meet features Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) and a newly resurfaced track.  The top 20 finishers in each event will receive medals.  Results will be posted on Milesplit Live after each event and uploaded to NC Milesplit immediately upon conclusion of the meet.  A perfect meet for a late season PR in the 1600m or a last chance to qualify for NCHSAA Regionals!

Meet Day Schedule:

- 7:30AM: Gates open, packet pick-up begins

- 9:00AM: National Anthem

- 9:01AM: Rolling schedule of events begins

- Middle School Girls 1600m (all heats)

- Middle School Boys 1600m (all heats)

- Middle School Girls Awards (@ 50 yard line)

- High School Girls 1600m (all heats)

- Middle School Boys Awards (@ 50 yard line)

- High School Boys 1600m (all heats)

- High School Girls/Boys Awards (@ 50 yard line)

Registration opens on Feb 1st via NC Milesplit and closes on April 29th at 11PM (or, earlier, at the discretion of the meet host, if the meet host determines the meet is at maximum capacity). 

Heat assignments (based on seed times) will be posted on NC Milesplit under Meet Info by 2PM on April 30th.  If no seed time is recorded in NC Milesplit, or no seed time is provided before registration closes, the athlete will default to the slowest heat.  Heat size will be determined based on number of participants registered in each division.  The fastest heat in each division will generally be limited to 12-16 athletes.  Slower heats may have more runners. 

No minimum / maximum seed time.  All are welcome!

Meet entry: $5 per athlete (or, max $25 per registered school/team with five or more athletes entered), paid at the gate on race day.  Individuals may pay via cash or card.  Teams may pay via cash, card, or check (payable to Havelock High School).  All athletes must be pre-registered in NC Milesplit in order to participate.  No race day registration.

Spectator entry: $5 (kids 10 and under are free) paid via cash or card at the gate on race day.

Unattached/individual athletes are welcome, but we highly encourage high school coaches to register their athletes under their school profiles, especially if they intend to use this meet as a post-season qualifier.  Middle school athletes should check with their middle school coach prior to deciding to enter as an individual or under their school/team.  Middle school coaches who need help setting up a team profile on Milesplit can reach out to the meet point of contact (coachdettle@gmail.com).
