Åshöjdenloppet

About the Event

Welcome to the enchanting Åshöjdenloppet, nestled within the picturesque Åsljunga region. This annual race offers runners of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature's beauty while challenging their endurance on varied terrain.
The main event is a 12-kilometer course that winds through narrow forest trails and fields, offering breathtaking views at every turn. The route features rolling hills and scenic landscapes, providing both seasoned runners and newcomers with a memorable running experience. For those looking for something shorter but equally engaging, there's also a 6-kilometer option that showcases the area’s natural beauty in a more relaxed setting.
For younger participants, Åshöjdenloppet offers two special categories: Knatteknat (1000 meters) and Miniknat (500 meters), designed to introduce children aged four and up to running. These fun courses are marked with red and white ribbons throughout the route, making navigation easy for young runners.
Registration is open until Thursday, October 15th at 9:00 PM local time. After this date, late entries can still be made on race day but will incur a higher fee. All participants receive timing chips attached to their bib numbers for accurate results tracking in the longer distances; however, mini and knatteknat courses do not have formal timing.
On the event page at taklto.com/ashojdenloppet/liveresult.php, you can find live updates as race day approaches. Post-race results will be available online shortly after the competition concludes via taklto.com/results/ashojdenloppet/2026/resultatlista_ashojdenloppet_2026.pdf.
Race start times are scheduled for October 18th, with Miniknat kicking off at 10:15 AM and Knatteknat following shortly after at 10:30 AM. The longer races begin later in the morning to accommodate these youth events – the 12-kilometer race starts promptly at 11:15 AM, while the 6-kilometer run begins a short time afterwards.
Participants can reach Åsljunga via bus from nearby towns; instructions and schedules are available on-site. Free parking is also provided near Von Reisers school in Landshövdingevägen (coordinates: 56.306209, 13.368046). Detailed maps of the race course can be found at www.ashojdenloppet.se/våra-banor#comp-ltg03u7 and are also posted around start and finish areas.
Along both longer routes, runners will encounter green arrows for 6 km and orange markers for 12 kilometers to guide them through turns and junctions. A water station is set up halfway along the 12-kilometer route to keep participants hydrated during their run.
Once you cross the finish line, head indoors at Åsljunga Sports Hall where changing facilities and showers await. Post-race refreshments are plentiful on-site as well, ensuring everyone has a chance to celebrate their achievement in style.
Join us for an unforgettable day of running amidst stunning natural surroundings – see you there!
