RegisterThe Apex Endurance Challenge is an exciting test of grit and stamina designed to bring endurance athletes of all kinds together for one unforgettable day of adventure. Taking place on February 7th at the beautiful T. Mabry Carlton Reserve, this event offers something for every competitor: a rugged 25K and 50K trail race, plus action-packed 4-hour and 8-hour adventure races. Whether you’re chasing distance on foot or seeking a multi-discipline endurance challenge, the Apex Endurance Challenge is all about pushing your limits, embracing the outdoors, and having fun with a community of like-minded athletes.
50K & 25K:
Start: 7:30am
Cut off time: 4:30pm
Course: Course layout will be provided soon.
8 Hour Adventure Race
Race Distance:
24-40 Miles (4 to 5 miles per hour average speed)
Categories:
Solo, Two Person, Three Person and Four Person Teams
Description:
Teams of 1-4 will travel across land, water and swamp in Carlton Reserve covering approximately 24-40 miles. Racers will use pre-plotted Cal topo maps to navigate to check points while paddling, cycling and running/trekking through the course. Check points will be placed in various different locations using natural features as indicators of placement such as trail intersections, streams, bays, coves etc. The race will cover everything from single track Mountain Biking trails to dirt or gravel roads, a few paved roads and flat water kayaking.
Boats:
Boats will be included in your registration cost, you are encouraged to bring you own boat to this race and will be given a discount to a future race for providing your own boat. All PFDs (life jackets) and paddles are also included in your registration but you may bring your own. Apex Promoz will not be responsible for securing or transporting your paddle equipment or boat before during or after the race.
Boats will be available on a first come first serve basis. We will ask all three person teams to use a three-person canoe.
