Anholt Rundt, one of Denmark's most picturesque nature and beach runs, invites runners to explore the beauty of Anholt Island nestled in Kattegat. Since its inception in 2010, this beloved race has offered a variety of routes that wind through lush forests and along pristine beaches.
Participants can choose from several distances including marathon (42 km), half-marathon (21 km), ultra-distance (44.5 km, which is two circuits around the island), or an enjoyable 5.5-kilometer asphalt route that showcases the island's charming harbor and scenic landscapes. Each course offers a unique blend of natural beauty and coastal charm.
The marathon and half-marathon routes begin in Plotarute, taking runners through diverse terrains before returning to the stunning coastline for breathtaking views along the way. For those seeking an even greater challenge, the ultra-distance route provides two circuits around the island, catering specifically to endurance athletes who thrive on long distances amidst nature's splendor.
