Discover the hidden trails of the Amber Valley at the Amberaid 30 and Petit Raid on October 17, 2026, an autumn ultra that showcases the rugged beauty on the eastern fringes of the Peak District. Choose your challenge: the classic 31-mile Amberaid loop or the 20-mile Petit Raid, both offering a superb mix of punchy climbs, flowing woodland singletrack, and expansive rural views on a largely unmarked, adventurous course. This is a runner's race at heart, where self-navigation using provided GPX files and route notes is part of the journey, rewarding preparedness and a sense of exploration across the picturesque figure-of-eight route. With four well-stocked checkpoints offering everything from water and bananas to pizza, and a generous 9-hour time limit, the event strikes a perfect balance between a serious ultra test and a deeply enjoyable day out in the hills. Organized by First Light Adventures, the atmosphere is one of friendly, low-key camaraderie, where every finisher earns a well-deserved medal and the top male and female runners in each distance take home prizes.
