ALNWICK CASTLE TRAIL RUNS 2027 - 10KM & Half-Marathon

Immerse yourself in the historic beauty of Alnwick Castle for the 2027 ALNWICK CASTLE TRAIL RUNS, an exhilarating race that supports NE Youth Charity. Set against the backdrop of Northumberland’s iconic castle and its picturesque surroundings, this event offers runners a unique blend of scenic splendor and challenging terrain.
The trail runs begin along the banks of the River Aln beside Alnwick Castle, one of England's most celebrated landmarks featured in films like Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. The route winds through Hulne Park, Priory, and parts of the castle grounds, providing a picturesque journey that showcases Northumberland’s natural beauty.
Participants can choose between two distances: a 10km run and a half marathon (approximately 21 kilometers). Both routes are designed to challenge runners while offering breathtaking views at every turn. The course is not suitable for Canicross due to site restrictions, ensuring an undisturbed experience for trail enthusiasts.
Race day starts with the Half Marathon kicking off at 10:00 AM followed by the 10km race beginning fifteen minutes later. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North to ensure accurate results and a seamless experience.
Upon crossing the finish line, all runners receive an event medal along with exclusive merchandise from Wild Deer. Refreshments including snacks and drinks are available for participants to enjoy post-race. Additionally, those who sign up can purchase an official race t-shirt for just £14.
