Alex Guercia Memorial 5K Mustang Run

Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia. A Mustang remembered. The Alex Guercia Memorial 5K Mustang Run returns on Saturday, June 20, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM from Kennesaw Mountain High School (1898 Kennesaw Due West Rd NW). Alex was a proud Mustang — swimmer, cross country runner, and a young man known for walking up to veterans to thank them for their service. He passed away on June 12, 2021, weeks after graduating. This 5K supports the Alex Guercia Memorial Scholarship at KMHS — two students each year. Custom award medals for age group winners. Overall top male and female receive two free Braves tickets. Alex's Story:

• Alex Guercia graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High School in 2021
• Swam for Tidal Wave Swim Club, Harrison High School swim team, and Kennesaw Mountain High School (senior year)
• Ran cross country at Harrison High School his freshman year
• Known for his kindness, compassion, and genuine appreciation for others
• Often walked up to veterans at restaurants or stores to personally thank them for their service
• Passed away on June 12, 2021, in a motor vehicle accident — weeks after graduation
