About the Event

Embark on an unforgettable adventure along the scenic trails of south Del Rio with the Adventure on the Creek Triathlon, scheduled for October 24, 2026. This unique triathlon offers participants not only a competitive challenge but also a chance to explore some of the region's most cherished landmarks and natural beauty spots.
The event kicks off with an invigorating cycle ride through picturesque San Felipe Creek, covering a distance of 6.5 miles. Cyclists will wind their way along tranquil paths lined with lush greenery and scenic waterways, immersing themselves in the serene atmosphere that characterizes this part of Texas.
Following the cycling leg, athletes transition to a run over 2.75 miles through charming neighborhoods dotted with historical sites such as the Val Verde Winery and Brinkley Mansion. The route also takes runners past the iconic Val Verde County Courthouse and along the banks of San Felipe Creek, providing ample opportunities for breathtaking views.
The final leg is a refreshing kayak journey spanning 1.25 miles on the serene waters of San Felipe Creek. Paddlers will glide through tranquil stretches, encountering diverse flora and fauna that call this area home. This segment not only tests endurance but also allows participants to connect with nature in a peaceful setting.
