Join Team Addict II Athlete as we unite hundreds of runners across Utah and beyond, both virtually and on-site, to celebrate recovery and raise awareness about addiction and mental health. This 5K race is more than just a run; it's an opportunity for participants to honor loved ones affected by these challenges or support those still navigating their journey toward healing. For virtual runners, the flexibility extends through September, aligning with National Recovery Month. By participating from anywhere in the world, you can contribute to our collective goal of erasing stigma and fostering hope, recovery, and support within communities struggling with addiction and mental illness. On-site participants will have a special section called the Memory Grove where pictures submitted before August 20th will be displayed on signs along the race course. This allows runners to commemorate friends or family members who are battling these issues or those who have been lost to them, creating a poignant reminder of why this event is so meaningful. The route itself offers scenic views and challenging terrain that cater to all levels of fitness, providing an enriching experience for both mind and body. Whether you're running in memory of someone dear or celebrating the strength of individuals overcoming adversity, every step contributes to breaking down barriers surrounding mental health issues. Proceeds from this event will go toward supporting initiatives aimed at helping those struggling with addiction and mental illness, ensuring that we continue to make a positive impact on their lives through education, advocacy, and direct assistance. We invite you to be part of something greater than yourself by joining us in our mission for hope and healing. As the head coach emphasizes, this event is about more than just running—it's an invitation to stand together as a community that supports each other during times of struggle and triumphs over adversity. Your participation can make all the difference in someone’s journey toward recovery.

About Highland
Learn more about the host city, Highland.
Highlands or uplands are areas of high elevation such as a mountainous region, elevated mountainous plateau or high hills. Generally, upland refers to a range of hills, typically from 300 m (980 ft) up to 600 m (2,000 ft), while highland is usually reserved for ranges of low mountains. However, the two terms are interchangeable and also include regions that are transitional between hilly and mountainous terrain.
